Anita's quilts and quilting

A professional longarm machine quilter for hire and some of the work I've done.

Quilt finishes

Yup, I got a couple finished and they’ve already been picked up.  This is the first one.

The owner wanted only stitch in the ditch with clear thread.

There was a little extra fullness on the border so I asked permission to do some quilting there.  I did a simple piano key design.  Just enough to work in the extra fullness.

This is the other quilt finished.

She only wanted minimal stitch in the ditch quilting too but wanted the border quilted with a design.   I used clear thread for everything except in the white areas.  I used white thread there.  I did a ribbon design on the sashing.

I couldn’t come up with a design (that I could do) to go with the theme of the nutcracker.  I thought of ballet slippers but I can’t draw those freehand.  I finally did a leaf type design.  Leaves as in Fall.  Fall means Christmas is right around the corner.  Well, that was my thinking anyway.

I’m using this quilt to write a post about centering a quilt vertically as well as horizontally on the machine.  I hope to have that written by next week.    For now there is another quilt on the machine waiting on me.
