This photo list of unfinished quilts is a great visual memory aid for me. I’m able to find the next project to work on without pulling out lots of containers to search through them.
#1 Dresden plate – inherited – vintage fabrics from probably the 1930 or 1940 era – backing already chosen – need to order batting
#2 Tulip applique – inherited – vintage – 17 blocks of approximately 14 X 14 size – blocks contain stains and smoke odor – will be washed before using
#3 Southern belle ladies applique – inherited – 10 blocks of approximately 20″ X 20″ size – blocks will be washed before completing the quilt – stains and smoke odor
#4 Nine Dresden plates – need background fabric for applique
#5 Thirty Dresden plates – need background fabric for applique
#6 Ten Dresden plates – need background fabric for applique
#7 Forty six clothing blocks – 9 1/2″ X 9 1/2″ each – leftover fabric from making memory quilts
#8 Twenty four wonky star blocks – 8″ X 8 ”
#9 Thirty six blocks of each color wonky star blocks – 9″ X 9″ size
#10 Pieced Dresden plate – made from neckties – eight blocks
#11 Twin size strings blocks – top completed – backing included – order batting
#12 Twin size string quilt – top completed – find backing, binding, and order batting
#13 Twin size Vintage nine patch – one row needs sashing added then added to top
#14 Modern wedding ring – top completed – need backing, batting, and binding to complete it
#15 Thirty log cabin blocks – has all fabric required to finish the top – this is to be a gift so its hidden
#16 Red hat ladies fabric – originally was intended to be a Christmas gift – want to complete it this year
#17 I’m not sure what I intended for these pieces I’m keeping them until I find my original notes
#18 Wall hanging snowpeople quilt – I’m not sure I really want to finish this one – will decide later
#19 Twin size fan quilt – made from leftover shirts fabric from a memory quilt – top is finished – all materials included – ready for machine quilting
#20 Twin size nine by nine patch – ready to quilt – backing and binding included – order batting
#21 Vintage embroidery butterfly blocks – heavy smoke odor and discoloration – will wash before working with these
#22 vintage paper pieced crazy quilt – inherited – pieced on newspaper using a treadle machine – heavy smoke odor – some fabric so thin you can see through it – this one will a lot of work to complete.
